Finchale is delighted to announce that it has been awarded funding totalling £189,570 from the Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust. This generous funding will be used to strengthen and develop our work with serving members of the army, their families and veterans across the North East.
Our Family Force and Space to Breathe projects will combine activities for veterans and their families with support for mental health. Funding will allow us to offer wraparound care for the entire family and provide more of our popular outdoor activities and residential weekends. From experience, we know that taking part in an activity can help to improve well-being and provide a real sense of achievement. Thanks to the Covenant Fund, these two programmes now have funding in place until 2022.
Armed Forces Covenant funding will also allow us to continue the work that we started last year with serving soldiers and their spouses. Team Albermarle: Behind the Wire will bring together a wide spectrum of serving personnel and their families and offer practical, skills based learning. Activities such as cookery, gardening and crafts will help to deliver a range of functional skills that can be used both now and in the future.
Jacqui Nicholson, Programme & Services Delivery Lead said, “None of this would be possible without the support of the Armed Forces Covenant Fund and we are extremely grateful that they have chosen to fund Finchale. These three projects are much needed and will make a real difference to the lives of people that we support. We are looking forward to getting started and will tell you more about our activities over the next few weeks.”
