In April, Finchale was delighted to be awarded a grant of £1000 from the Finnis Scott Foundation.
The Foundation which supports horticulture, culture and the arts, awarded the grant to help with the development of the Community Garden.
As many of our followers will know, work on the garden has been delayed due to the Corona virus pandemic. However, as the lockdown is beginning to loosen, we are starting once again to make plans. Last week, our Veterans Woodcraft group built some raised planters and we hope that our volunteers will soon be able to start clearing the land and creating the raised pathways.
The grant from the Finnis Scott Foundation, will be used to buy some much needed tools and equipment.
Jacqui Nicholson, Programme & Services Delivery Lead said, “This generous grant has come just at the right time. Subject to government guidelines, we are keen to get moving on the garden and enjoy developing it over the summer. The grant from the Finnis Scott Foundation will allow us to go and buy exactly the right tools that we need to get started. Many thanks to the Trustees.”
