Areas of support
Serving Personnel and Families
Providing training and qualification pathways to ready all beneficiaries for their new career. Financial workshops to help the personnel and their families budget and manage their finances.
Reduce isolation – provide a safe environment for the families to share experiences, bond, develop and strengthen family relationships and create new friendships whilst taking part in fun and adventurous activities. To help reduce social isolation and improve wellbeing whilst building resilience. Increase the families extended network.
Provide family support and also children only activities to help the young people overcome stress and anxiety and to bond with other young people. We can also offer functional skills if they have had a disrupted education, apprenticeships to support them into employment.
Reservists and families also need support
Through group support and family force activities Finchale Group offer a whole range of support when a reservist is mobilised for both them and their families. . We provide Reservists who are unemployed or in low paid work access to our training and qualification pathways into the sectors they aspire to work in. We can also offer support to employers so that they achieve their AF Covenant award and create HR policies to support reservists. We also offer spouses support, social networks and regular contact with others in their situation.
Ensuring successful transition into civilian employment and lifestyle. Creating an action plan for their discharge. Looking at their aspirations move into employment/go into business/ retire/ volunteer. Assistance in planning their learning and development insuring that they use their ELCAS allowance to enhance their career prospects.
In addition to employment and training we offer ongoing support to improve integration into their local communities, improve family life and sustained wellbeing, mentally, physically and financially.
Transition affects the whole family. Unlike other charities we are not only veteran centric. Finchale will support the whole family. We are unique in the North East as we are the only military charity that can offer this 360 degree support covering their education, training and employment needs whilst also delivering wrap round health and well being support.
